The first homes in Notting Hill Genesis’ regeneration of the Aylesbury Estate will be delivered by Hill, a top 20 UK housebuilder.

Hill will build 229 homes on a parcel of land known as “Package A” at the junction of Bradenham Close and Westmoreland Road, after being appointed on a £70m contract.

Of those homes, 84 per cent will be available for social rent, including 54 extra care units and seven homes for people with learning difficulties.

Package A is part of the wider First Development Site, which will provide more than 800 homes, a community facility and new public open space. It will also provide a wide range of job and training opportunities for Southwark residents, including 224 sustained jobs, 98 apprenticeships and 105 training places.

They are highly experienced in regeneration projects that benefit the wider community and the high standards they demand match the vision we have for the area.

“This is a very challenging time for the housing sector and development has slowed in London and beyond, but we retain our commitment to producing the quality new homes so desperately needed in this area and are looking forward to starting construction in the very near future.”

This first package will deliver over 180 social homes and much needed new jobs. I know many local residents will be looking forward to moving into the new homes and today’s announcement is a great step towards that, delivering truly affordable homes for local people, including those with additional needs.”

The regeneration of the Aylesbury neighbourhood is a long-term partnership between Notting Hill Genesis and Southwark Council. Over the lifetime of the project we will deliver more than 3,500 new homes, half of which will be affordable housing. Of that half, 75 per cent will be available for social rent.
