Southwark Council and Notting Hill Genesis are working in partnership on the regeneration of the Aylesbury Estate. Southwark Council are the landlord for existing residents on the Aylesbury Estate and have an Aylesbury neighbourhood team who are there to support existing tenants and leaseholders. If you are a Southwark Council tenant and want to find out about your housing options, please contact your housing officer.
Creation Trust is dedicated to making sure that residents living on the Aylesbury estate receive the benefits of the regeneration of the area.
These benefits are not just new homes, schools, community facilities and a much improved park and open spaces, but the social and economic benefits of regeneration, such as employment, education and training, improvements in health and well being and a reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour.
InSpire officially opened its doors in 2003, the brain child of St Peter’s then Rector, Giles Goddard who, in 2001 set out to achieve his vision of turning the Crypt of St Peter’s church into a thriving community facility for local residents.
In 2005 we added 2InSpire Youth Arts Centre to our portfolio. This great youth facility was created on the nearby Aylesbury Estate and is a hub of creative youth work and arts based programmes for local young people.
Both centres provide vital support, services and safe community spaces in an area going through one of the largest and most controversial regeneration programmes that London has seen for generations.
InSpire is a non-religious organisation, serving those of all faiths and none, but to this day we retain a close and supportive relationship with St Peter’s Church.
Pembroke House has been based in Walworth since 1885, when students from Pembroke College, Cambridge took up residence in this neighbourhood to live and work alongside local people.
Inspired by this legacy, today we work to bridge traditional divides and unite people – whatever their background or walk of life – to build a better Walworth together.
Our mission is to provide and maintain the highest standards of sports practice and at the same time make it accessible to all.
To provide children and youngsters a unique opportunity to develop leadership, organisational and physical management skills in a fun and safe supportive learning environment in which participants can build a sense of community.
Our Vision is to develop a leading team of sports clubs working together for the community.
Using best practices, our clubs seek to be the leaders and give a real opportunity to develop skills. Develop real champions in every sport and to give everyone the chance to practice a healthy activity that will teach important values for life.
